lyrics

all the echoes raise ghosts

i saw you walk into the room
i know that i will know you soon
i have your picture on my wall
i’ve seen your tears and i want more

we are the borrowed quiet hate
we know the sorrow silence makes
shed your last tear and hold my hand
on higher ground we can pretend

but i will never be your friend
no, i will never be your friend

i see your shadow at the start
you armed my metal piercing heart
no armoured wall will keep you safe
my goal is set and i can wait

but i will never be your friend
no, i will never be your friend

i search your words
the words to set me free
the blade to cut
to cut and let me breathe
the maelstrom sits
clenched behind my eyes
your heart a bird
in my hands it lies

and i will never be your friend
no, i will never be your friend
i will never be your friend

i saw you walk into the room
i know that i will know you soon

about

thewhiskeyarchive Brisbane, Australia

thewhiskeyarchive brought together the vocal, musical and songwriting talents of ukulele songstress Jane Cameron and singer/songwriter Mark Bentley.

The result was a blend of smooth, smokey indie folk with a hint of alt country and a nod to the punk/goth influences of Brisbane's music scene in the '70s and '80s.
